An invitation from President Keel

invite pic’Tis nearly the season, and we have much to celebrate — together!

Tammie and I are grateful to be home for the holidays and look forward to sharing this joyous time with family and friends — old and new — from across our university and health system and from throughout our Augusta community.

Please accept this as my personal invitation to our 2015 Christmas Tree Lighting celebration to be held Thursday, December 3rd at 6:00 p.m. on our beautiful Summerville campus. I am delighted to join the Summerville Neighborhood Association in hosting this evening of family and community fun, complete with caroling, refreshments, crafts, trolley rides and, of course, a visit from St. Nick and last but not least, stay for a showing of one of everyone’s favorite holiday films – “elf,”  (weather permitting) …

I encourage everyone to attend, and bring your families, to celebrate this special holiday event. Let’s take this opportunity to come together, enjoy some holiday fun, and demonstrate a strong and renewed commitment to our institution, to our community and to each other.

Celebrating this holiday season together is an opportunity to remind ourselves that shared values and aspirations for our institution and community, connect us in important and meaningful ways. Fostering those connections, both when we work each day with a common purpose and when we stop for a moment to enjoy shared traditions, will be of great benefit to us all.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Brooks Keel
